Due to the distance and rural location of the Tunica's - this "shuttle" industry has developed. Compared to NYC, you could almost say Memphis doesn't have cabs. The cab situation in Memphis is NOTHING like NYC. They're not little tour buses carrying people. You schedule a pickup time, you don't have to wait for them to come around for the scheduled stops. Most, if not all are in private vehicles ( cars/vans/suvs) that are for private parties. The "shuttle" name is a bit of a misnomer - it's basically a cab that specifically goes from the airport to Tunica. A cab is going to be much more expensive than one of these shuttles and most likely significantly longer since most cab drivers don't like to make the trip so they're not familiar with it. I'm sure you could probably find one that would take you to Tunica, however it's approximately 30 miles from the airport to Tunica.
